HOW IS STARTED

"I think I was 8 or 9 when my mom bought me a piano for my birthday.  I was very excited.  Piano was my first love long before guitar and saxophone.  I took piano lessons every year up until I graduated high school.  Even in elementary school I would sit at the piano and make up melodies.  The music I was learning at lessons was boring.  I would practice that stuff right away to get it over with, and then spend the rest of the week just sitting at the piano singing songs from the radio.  Once my piano teacher realized I could sing, we focused more on accompanying myself as a singer, and that's when things started to change.  I would sit at the piano for hours and sing love songs from old pop piano books."
