HOW IT STARTED
"I was kicked out of middle school band as a drummer because I got caught forging my mom's signature on my practice sheets. I cried while riding my bike all the way home to tell my mom. She had a meeting with the band director and he agreed to let me back in the band, but I had to play something else since I obviously didn't like the drums. I suggested trumpet, but he said the only opening he had was tenor saxophone. I reluctantly agreed. I hated band and I hated the saxophone until high school when I learned of something called jazz band. My band director played me a recording of Gerald Albrights' Georgia On My Mind...and that was it. I was hooked."
